Today is Valentine's Day, one of the biggest commercial holidays in the U.S. next to Christmas and Halloween, during which over 150 million cards are exchanged annually. The History Channel lists more interesting Valentine's Day Facts on their website, such as:
There are 34 single men (i.e., never married, widowed or divorced) age 65 or older for every 100 single women of the same ages.
If you are sharing this day with someone special and want to treat your Valentine, try something different this year. Like make a heart-shaped layered crepe dessert!
To make this an easy-breezy task, you can purchase ready-to-eat crepes which you can find in the stores listed here (just select the state where you live); or you can cook the crepes yourself. Get a heart-shaped baking ring or cut the crepes by hand, and use pink or red frosting to hold the layers together. Here are some fun toppings you can add:
Fruit Sprinkles
Coconut shavings Honey
Chocolate shavings Powdered sugar
For some of you this holiday may be overrated. Whether you're single or just simply anti-Valentine, then treat yourself! Perhaps yours truly does not care for corny heart-shaped cakes. Well indulge in some of the other hype surrounding this day. For instance, you can tune in to the Investigation Discovery channel at 9:00 PM to watch the premier of their Valentine's Day special - 50 Ways To Leave Your Lover . If you think you've had relationship issues, you haven't seen anything yet!
Whatever your situation may be, chances are you will be exposed to all sorts of Valentine's Day promotions, and you should take full advantage!
