Today is International Women’s Day – a celebration that began
in 1975. The United Nations Entity for
Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women features the following
description of this day on their website:
“International Women’s
Day first emerged from the activities of labour movements at the turn of the
twentieth century in North America and across Europe. Since those early years,
International Women’s Day has assumed a new global dimension for women in
developed and developing countries alike. The growing international women’s
movement, which has been strengthened by four global United Nations women’s
conferences, has helped make the commemoration a rallying point to build
support for women’s rights and participation in the political and economic arenas.
Increasingly, International Women’s Day is a time to reflect on progress made, to call for change and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in the history of their countries and communities.”

Crepini is especially honored – as a woman-owned enterprise
with European roots – to celebrate this day in the U.S. Crepini’s overall
success as an industrialized specialty food company in 2013 is a great
indicator of what the future holds for women in business and beyond. The number
of female leaders in our society is rising, giving women all over the world
opportunities they never had before.
Crepini supports the UN’s fight for women, and the
globalization of women’s rights. Our team wishes our CEO Paula Rimer and women
around the globe a Happy Women’s Day!
